BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana running back Darius Willis will miss the remainder of the 2010 season with a patellar tendon injury. The sophomore will undergo surgery on Wednesday, Oct. 20, and the team's medical staff expects a full recovery.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana running back Darius Willis will miss the remainder of the 2010 season with a patellar tendon injury. The sophomore will undergo surgery on Wednesday, Oct. 20, and the team's medical staff expects a full recovery.

Willis had 279 rushing yards (128 yards after contact, 45.9 percent) on 64 carries (4.3 average) with four scores this season in addition to 11 catches for 102 yards and one touchdown. He sat fifth in the Big Ten in scoring, averaging 7.5 points per game

The 6-0, 224-pounder from Indianapolis paced the team with 607 yards, 67.4 yards per game, a 4.9 average, 123 attempts and six scores in 2009. Willis' per game average ranked eighth among freshmen nationally, second among freshmen in the Big Ten and fifth overall, and he shared eighth with 4.0 points per game.
