Watford out indefinitely with broken hand

Indiana University sophomore Christian Watford is out indefinitely with a broken left hand suffered Sunday in an 84-83 overtime loss at Michigan State.

Indiana University sophomore Christian Watford is out indefinitely with a broken left hand suffered Sunday in an 84-83 overtime loss at Michigan State.

He underwent surgery today. He is the team’s leading scorer and is eighth in the conference averaging 17.0 points. He is sixth in the conference in free throw percentage (83.5) making 111 of 133 charity tosses.

Watford is the third major loss for the Hoosiers to injury during the past month, joining Maurice Creek (out for the season with a stress fracture to the patella in his right knee) and Verdell Jones (out indefinitely with a knee injury).
