The recruiting process is just beginning for Fort Wayne South Side junior Donovan Clark.
"Not anything crazy," he said of the contact thus far. "A couple Big Ten schools, Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa has made contact and invites to a couple camps."
Check back in a few months and it is likely to be a different story as the 5'10, 170-lb prospect's film makes the rounds.
Clark played running back, quarterback, cornerback and returned punts. He finished the season with 1,049 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground, three passing and one receiving. He also had three interceptions and three pass breakups on defense.
"I guess a breakout year, you could say that. Last year, our team wasn't the best, but this year, I didn't have to do it alone."
According to Clark, he is more likely to play cornerback than offense in college, but is open to anything.
As for more schools coming through, he says the one he watched growing up has already made contact, but now he's hoping to hear from the in-state programs.
"Michigan was really it, so once they contacted me, I was pretty happy. I'd like to hear from Indiana and Purdue since I'm in Indiana."
Last summer, Clark did not have an opportunity to camp, but this year will be a different story.
"I played travel basketball and baseball, but I stopped playing basketball now, so I'll be at a lot more camps."
