Bennett Picks Up First Offer

U of D Jesuit (Mich.) junior linebacker Parris Bennett earned an offer this week, as did one of his teammates. Are the two looking to play together in college?

Western Michigan became the first school to offer University of Detroit Jesuit linebacker Parris Bennett this week.

"It's a big relief," the 6'0, 210-lb junior said. "I've been kind of stressing about it. I'm very happy. It's a good feeling."

Bennett and his teammate, defensive end Jacari Faulkner, were both offered by the Broncos and plan to check on Kalamazoo together.

"Coach Reynolds came up to the school and saw me and Jacari. He told my coach that we're guys and he wanted to offer us. I plan to go to their junior day and senior one day camp over the summer."

The Broncos will have some competition though, especially from other MAC schools.

"Bowling Green was there and Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan came by today. I'm going to CMU junior day this Saturday. The 16th I'm going to Bowling Green, that's all I know for right now."

And might Bennett and Faulkner continue playing together in college?

"Yeah, that's always been the thing we talked about. We wanted to stick together and also know that it depends. If one of us gets a big offer, we would split up, but we want to go to school together. That would be nice."
