Indiana senior golfer David Mills was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday (Sept. 11). He earned his first career weekly honor after posting a T4 finish at the Northern Intercollegiate.
A native of Evansville, Ind., Mills fired a 4-under-par second round score of 68, tying the day's lowest individual round at Northern Intercollegiate. It was his lowest round since posting a 66 in April of 2012. His three-round score of 214 (74-68-72, +2) led to a fourth place tie in the tournament, his seventh career top five finish in tournament play.
Mills is Indiana’s first conference golfer of the week since Andrew Fogg received the award on Apr. 10, 2012.
The Hoosiers will be back on the links this weekend at the highly prestigious Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational at Olympia Fields Country Club. Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com.
