Jeffries retires, joins Nuggets front office

Former Indiana star Jared Jeffries has retired from the NBA to accept a front-office job in Denver.

Jared Jeffries' playing days appear to be over.

According to a report from Yahoo! Sports, the former Indiana basketball star has retired from the NBA and accepted a front-office job with the Denver Nuggets.

Jeffries played 11 seasons in the NBA for four different NBA teams. His most productive year came in 2004-05 when he averaged 6.8 points and 4.9 rebounds for Washington. Jeffries averaged 1.2 points in 38 games for Portland last season.

According to the Yahoo! report, Jeffries will have a scouting role with the Nuggets.
