IU not ranked in the AP top 25

The last time Indiana wasn't ranked in the Associated Press top 25, Christian Watford had yet to hit his buzzer-beating 3-pointer against Kentucky. But the first AP poll for this season has the Hoosiers on the outside looking in.

The last time Indiana wasn’t ranked in the Associated Press top 25 was the week before Christian Watford put the Hoosiers back on the map with his shot against Kentucky.

That was December of 2011.

But in the first Associated Press poll for the 2013-14 season, the Hoosiers are close but not among the top 25. IU picked up 111 points in the voting process but that left it three spots out of the top 25.

Last week, Indiana was ranked No. 24 in the Coaches poll.
