Indiana beats Illinois 11-3 in series finale

Indiana improved to 13-2 in Big Ten play by taking two out of three games this weekend from second place Illinois. The Hoosiers pounded out 15 hits on Sunday to post an 11-3 win in the series finale. IU won the first game 9-3 on Friday but then lost 2-1 on Saturday. Brian Korte went five innings and struck out a career-high six batters in Sunday's win.

The Indiana baseball team has a three-game lead on the rest of the Big Ten after taking two out of three from Illinois over the weekend. Indiana is now 13-2 in conference play following Sunday's convincing 11-3 win over the Illini at Illinois Field. Nebraska and Illini are tied for second with 10-5 records.
