Shane Wynn named to Hornung Award watch list

IU's Shane Wynn

Shane Wynn has been named to the Paul Hornung Award watch list. The award is presented annually to the nation's most versatile player.

Indiana senior wide receiver Shane Wynn has been named to the Paul Hornung Award Watch List, the Louisville Sports Commission announced Monday.

The award is presented annually to the most versatile player in college football.

That title would seem to fit Wynn, who is the first player in IU history with touchdowns via receiving, rushing, punt return and kickoff return. He has 17 receiving touchdowns, and one each in the other three categories.

Wynn enters the 2014 season ranked third at IU in kick return yardage with 1,610 yards. He is tied for fifth with his 17 receiving touchdowns and tied for eighth all time in catches with 133. He ranks 10th in IU history in all-purpose yardage with 3,270 yards.

Wynn is one of 47 players named to the list. Finalists will be announced in late November and the winner will be revealed in early December.
