Indiana fans will have two opportunities this week to see IU coaches and in one case, selected athletes, in person at speaking events this week.
IU’s ‘On the road with the Hoosiers’ Indianapolis stop is Wednesday at Lucas Oil Stadium, and then IU will host another event Friday at Memorial Stadium to give IU fans the opportunity to hear other coaches talk about their teams.
On Wednesday, not only will Indiana fans have a chance to hear coaches Tom Crean, Kevin Wilson and Todd Yeagley take the podium but there will also be several former Hoosier legends that will be on hand, too.
When the event takes place on Wednesday, Aug. 20 at Lucas Oil Stadium, IU fans will also get to see Victor Oladipo, Cody Zeller, Bobby ‘Slick’ Leonard, George Taliaferro, Anthony Thompson and Whitey Kapsalis.
Along with the coaches, IU athletic director Fred Glass will also be there as will emcee Don Fischer. Fans will get the opportunity to get photos taken with the Old Oaken Bucket which is back in IU’s possession this year.
The event will run from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20 in the West Club Lounge at Lucas Oil Stadium. Autographs can be had from 5:30-6:45 p.m. and will be limited to one autograph item per Hoosier legend.
Tickets can be purchased on line through IU. Single tickets are $15 for IU Alumni Association and Varsity Club members. Tickets are $20 for non-members. Youth tickets are $5 for children ages 6-12. Children under 6 are free. The ticket price includes heavy appetizers and a cash bar will be available.

Then on Friday, IU head coaches Sherry Dunbar-Kruzan (volleyball), Chris Lemonis (baseball) and Kevin Wilson (football) and Athletic Director Fred Glass will be back in Bloomington for a special fan event on Friday, August 22 at Memorial Stadium.
According to a press release, the free event is an opportunity for fans to learn about the successes of IU student-athletes, both on and off the field, and hear insights on what to expect from the Hoosiers during the 2014-15 season. The event program will also feature interviews with current Hoosier student-athletes.
Special guest Clayton Anderson will perform live music. Local Bloomington restaurants, food trucks and breweries will provide food and craft beer for purchase. Guests will also have opportunities for photos with the Old Oaken Bucket and a Kids Zone will be available with games and activities.
The Memorial Stadium event will take place from 5:30-8:00 p.m. ET in Hoosier Village outside the south end zone at Memorial Stadium. Admission is free and guests can pre-register for the event at http://iuaa.imodules.com/ontheroadhoosiers.
