Ohio State
game now officially a sell-out, Indiana University officials are offering a way for additional IU fans to attend Saturday’s 11:10 a.m. game.
IU is now selling $10 tickets for admission to the stadium’s north end zone lawn. While there won’t be seats or bleachers available, those fans will be allowed to bring blankets and will be able to access the stadium services on the east concourse.
The $10 tickets must be purchased in person at the Assembly Hall ticket office Thursday afternoon or during regular business hours on Friday. Any remaining tickets can also be purchased Saturday morning beginning at 9 a.m. at the stadium’s eastside box office.
This marks the first time Memorial Stadium has been sold out since the last time Ohio State was in town – Oct. 25, 2003. The all-time attendance record for the stadium (which has a normal capacity of 52,354) is 56,223 in a Nov. 20, 1969, contest against
Purdue
.
“"Hopefully, IU fans have their tickets and will be there for 'The Walk,' We will rise to the emotion our fans have provided for us," IU Coach Terry Hoeppner said in a prepared statement. "They need their 'A 'game on. I am not cutting any corners, we need our 'A' game. We need to play with ferocity and an intensity to match Ohio State's. Then, our fans need to be just as focused. That is the challenge. I am confident it is going to happen."
