Bloomington, Ind. – Alex Hunt made an already good day for the Indiana football program even better.

Just hours after Cincinnati defensive lineman Larry Black pledged to the Hoosiers, the 6-1, 205-pound Hunt did the same. A running back from Duluth, Ga., Hunt gives the Hoosiers seven commits in the their 2007 class.

According to his mother, Yvonne, Hunt's family have been touring schools from the SEC, ACC and Big 10 since June, and they came away impressed with what Coach Bill Lynch's program had to offer.

"IU has an awesome program and an awesome university," she said. "A lot of the schools that have better records and a longer history, don't quite have the personal touch that IU has."

Hunt, who has a 3.3 GPA, is coming off an injury-riddled junior season that saw him miss a majority of the season due to a shoulder injury and concussion. He rushed for 400 yards in the equivalent of the three games he played in, including a 16-carry, 238-yard, two-touchdown effort in one contest.

Despite the injuries, Hunt is considered a solid get for the Hoosiers and IU Assistant Coach Mike Yeager, who recruits the state of Georgia. Hunt has track-caliber speed, evidenced by his :22.5 clocking in the 200-meters and the 4.4 he's run in the 40.
