According to university records,
Jerimy Finch
is enrolled at
Indiana
University.
The university’s student database now lists the former
Florida
Gator as a student on the Bloomington campus. Finch is presumably taking first summer session courses in an effort to shore up his academic standing, and he could very well be taking independent study courses as opposed to being on the Bloomington campus.
The Indianapolis Warren Central H.S. product announced his intentions to transfer from Florida following his freshman season with
Urban Meyer
’s program. The top-ranked player in the state of Indiana and the ninth-ranked safety in the nation coming out of high school, Finch played in three games for the Gators before suffering a broken right leg in week three against
Tennessee
.
While he is apparently enrolled at IU, the university has yet to announce Finch’s arrival, and he hasn’t made any public comments about joining the Hoosier program. That would suggest he needs to do some work in the classroom before he can be admitted to the university.
The 6-1, 203-pound Finch led Warren Central H.S. to four consecutive state championships from 2004-07. A coveted recruit, Finch originally verballed to
Michigan
before the start of his senior season, but then de-committed from the Wolverines and announced he would attend IU in December. Then, just days before the February signing period started, he changed his mind again after a last-minute courtship by Florida.
If Finch does wind up at IU – which appears probable – he’ll rejoin former high school teammates
Jeff Boyd
,
Chris Adkins
and
Andrew McDonald
, all of whom are redshirt freshmen who were also members of the four state title teams.
