Roger Franklin’s coast to coast tour continues this weekend.

Two weeks ago, the Duncanville (Texas) H.S. standout impressed on-lookers with his play at the Pangos All-America Camp in Los Angeles. Scout.com’s 68th-ranked recruit earned all-tourney honors in the event after going up against many of the top players in the ’09 class.

Now, the 6-5, 195-pounder is headed to New York to go up against the best from the East Coast. Franklin leaves Thursday to compete in the Rumble in the Bronx at Fordham University.

“I went to the West Coast and did well, and I’m looking forward to going up against some of the best from the East Coast,” Franklin said. “I heard everyone from New York is going to be there, so I’m looking forward to it.”

The Rumble in the Bronx tourney is just the latest stop for Franklin, who has been showing off his considerable skills for the last two months on the AAU circuit. The following weekend Franklin will be headed to Charlottesville, Va., to compete in the NBA’s Top 100 Showcase, an invitation-only event that brings all of the best players together from the Nike, adidas and Reebok circuits.

That’s a lot of travel and high-level competition on a weekly basis, but Franklin said he’s thoroughly enjoying the chance to go to each of the events.

“I love the experience and the opportunity I’ve been blessed with to be one of the lucky kids who can go to California one week, and the next week go to New York,” Franklin said. “I’m a really lucky kid.”

Franklin is also a really coveted recruit. In addition to the array of scholarship offers he’s already secured earlier this spring, he recently added an offer from Michigan Coach John Beilein.

“I got the Michigan offer about a week ago, and with them being from the Big Ten, that’s a good conference,” Franklin said. “I’ll take it slow right now. I know they’re a football school, so I’ll have to check them out.”

Indiana continues to be a major player for Franklin as well. The Hoosiers offered a scholarship soon after Tom Crean took over the reins of the program earlier in the spring. Franklin has continued to stay in contact with the IU coaching staff as he’s traveled around the country this spring.

“Everything is pretty much the same with Indiana,” Franklin said. “They’re one of my top schools.”
