Williams Will Be a Terp

Posted Oct 20, 2008

A week ago Jordan Williams wasn't sure if he was ready to make his college choice, but on Monday he made the call - he's headed to Maryland.

Jordan Williams is off the board.

The 6-8, 245-pound forward from Torrington (Conn.) High School verbally committed to play in the ACC beginning next fall.

“I committed to Maryland earlier today,” Williams said.

Scout.com’s 16th-ranked center ultimately picked Coach Gary Williams’ program over St. John’s, which were the only two schools where he took unofficial visits. In the latter stages of his recruitment he was also hearing from Indiana, Marquette, Arizona, UMass and Xavier as well.

Williams is the 99th-ranked player in the 2009 class according to Scout.com.
