Delta WR Becomes Commit No. 3
A week ago was when Indiana became the first program to offer the 6'5", 190-pounder a scholarship. Young had participated in one of IU's four-day team camps, and he performed well enough to be offered the day after the camp ended.
"There were a lot of factors that went into his decision, but once he got that offer from IU it was pretty much a done deal for him," Delta Coach Grant Zgunda said.
Young, who was also being recruited by both Purdue and Ball State, combines his excellent height with 4.59 speed in the 40. He used those tools to catch 43 passes for 1,100 yards (25.8 yards/catch) and 12 touchdowns last season for Delta.
"He's a big play guy," Zgunda said. "He can take a slant route or a hitch and turn it into a 70-yard touchdown."
Besides those physical tools, Zgunda says Young also has an approach to the game that the IU staff loved.
"The intangibles with Logan is something – he's a fierce competitor," Zgunda said. "He's our best worker in the weight room. Even though he's a phenomenal player right now, he's going to get better and that's scary."
