At 5-10 and 180-pounds, D'Angelo Roberts burst on the scene last year when he ended his junior…
Roberts Makes The Call
The highly coveted 5'10", 180-pound running back from Bloomington North H.S. let the Indiana coaching staff know this afternoon that he'll stay home and play for the Hoosiers.
"I finally felt 100 percent that it was where I needed to be," Roberts said.
Indiana is getting a good in Roberts, who is Scout.com's 68th-ranked running back nationally. As a junior he posted staggering totals of 2,604 yards and 32 touchdowns for Bloomington North, often carrying the ball 40-plus times per game for Coach Scott Bless' team.
Those totals caught the attention of more than just the Hoosier coaching staff. Roberts said he ultimately picked the hometown school over Cincinnati and Penn State.
"I called (Indiana's coaches) today and talked to Coach (Dennis) Springer, Coach (Bill) Lynch and Billy Lynch," Roberts said. "I had been taking my time, getting a feel for things, waiting for when it felt right. I was talking to Coach Springer and I knew it was the right decision."
Roberts becomes the 20th member of the Hoosiers' 2011 class and the ninth player with a three-star rating.
