Chappell, Replogle Named Captains
Chappell is on the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List and is a nominee for the AFCA Good Works Team and the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. He sits in the top 20 among returning players nationally (2009 stats) in completions per game (22.33; 6th), passing yards (2,941; 12th), passing yards per game (245.08; 13th) and total offense (2,932; 20th). Those totals all rank first among Big Ten returners.
The Bloomington South graduate enters 2010 in the top 10 on the school's career lists for completion percentage (.599 - 1st), passing yardage (3,956 - 8th), completions (349 - 7th), attempts (583 - 8th), passing touchdowns (21 - 9th), total offense (4,022 - 10th), 300-yard games (three - 3rd) and 200-yard games (nine - 6th). He finished 2009 completing 268-of-428 passes (62.6 percent) for 2,941 yards with 17 touchdowns, 15 interceptions and a 126.44 efficiency rating.
Replogle is the sixth-leading returning tackler in the Big Ten heading into 2010. He finished 12th in the Big Ten with 7.3 tackles per game and 13th in league games only with 7.7 stops each time out last season. Replogle played in 11 games and started nine times at strong-side linebacker.
The Centerville, Ohio, product ended the year second on the team with 80 tackles and 51 solos to go along with two sacks, 6.5 tackles for loss and his first-career interception in the team's win over Akron.
Indiana will also elect two game captains each week to join Chappell and Replogle.
