Chicago proved to be fertile recruiting territory for the Hoosiers a year ago with the signing of JaMarcus Ellis, Brandon McGee and DeAndre Thomas. The same appears to be the case this recruiting season, as one of the best Windy City Class of 2008 prospects has surfaced as a Hoosier priority.
Michael Dunigan, a 6-9 center from Chicago’s Farragut H.S., recently told Scout.com that Indiana was one of a handful of schools that was recruiting him hardest, along with Georgetown, Illinois, Purdue and Florida.
Dunigan is Scout.com’s 36th-ranked player in the 2008 class and the sixth-ranked center. He is playing with the Meanstreets AAU squad, a team that featured Memphis-bound guard Derrick Rose and, on occasion, IU-bound guard Eric Gordon a year ago.
Dunigan recently impressed at the Bill Hensley Memorial Run ‘n Slam in Ft. Wayne, where MeanStreets beat the Detroit-based The Family AAU squad in the championship game.
